New World Distillery breaks ground in Ogden Valley.

Eden, Utah.  New World Distillery Inc. announces the ground breaking on a 4300 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Eden, Utah last week.  Peterson Builders, Inc., also of Eden, worked with New World Distillery Co-Founders, Chris and Ashley Cross, to design a building reminiscent of an iconic barn in an effort to embrace the rural/agricultural vision of the Ogden Valley in the building’s aesthetics.

The project represents a culmination of nearly three years of planning to create a facility that will house production equipment for a line of premium spirits distilled and bottled locally.  The Distillery boasts several unique aspects reflective of the owners’ commitment to responsible use of natural resources, including a fully recirculating water cooling system, a custom wastewater evaporator, state of the art computer controlled fermentation/distillation equipment and solar power generation.  Head Distiller, Chris Cross states that they are adopting “green processes and presenting them with 100% transparency to the public.”

New World Distillery will focus on creating agave sprits, gin and vodka.  They will source many of their ingredients locally, including Utah Juniper berries for their gin recipe.  Chris and Ashley have worked in concert with local artist, Tyler Davis, of 42Brushes, who has created all the bottle labels that will be screen painted onto the bottles resulting in beautiful displays of custom art.

The construction schedule for New World Distillery anticipates a Summer 2016 opening.  The Founders will be available for a meet & greet at the Ogden Nature Center’s April 16 Earth Day Celebration.  They will have site plans available as well as a special Earth Day T-shirt with the dragonfly image that will distinguish their gin bottle.  They invite the public to stop by the booth to learn more about this new and exciting business coming to Ogden Valley.  For more information on New World Distillery, visit www.newworlddistillery.com.
