New World Distillery Opening December 10
Eden, UT (December 7, 2016) – After two years of hard work, construction logistics, planning, licensing, and series of approvals, New World Distillery (NWD) will have a soft opening on Saturday, December 10. The distillery will be open to the public from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday. During this soft opening, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase their site-distilled Oomaw Gin and holiday gifts.
“We are thrilled to be opening our doors to the public on Saturday morning” stated Ashley Cross, owner of New World Distillery. “We chose our gin as our first spirit release because the holiday season just calls for martinis. We spent over a year perfecting our botanical recipe andSaturday’s opening will be a celebration of that effort.”
New World Distillery only uses the highest quality organic ingredients, and produces GMO-free spirits. The distillery will open with the release their Oomaw Gin, a Dutch style gin crafted with a New World twist. This is a gin for passionate gin drinkers, with a juniper forward flavor and 8 additional botanicals for a mellow finish. Botanicals are steeped, to fully extract the essential oils for a lighter, more flavorful gin.
“‘Oomaw’ in Hopi is a cloud deity who works in concert with the dragonfly to unlock untapped water sources,” said Cross. “To us, this gin celebrates the clarity of the waters and skies in Ogden Valley, and represents our commitment to distill sustainably.”
New World Distillery emphasizes sustainability at their distillery and they have invested in state-of-the-art stills, cutting-edge fermenters that are temperature controlled, a waste-water evaporator and a recirculating water chiller that recycles 100 percent of their cooling water. Most of the ingredients for their spirits are purchased from local suppliers within a 3-state radius, all waste is recycled, their packaging is re-usable and they are the first commercial business to sign up for the Rocky Mountain Power Subscriber Solar program, making New World Distillery a leader as a zero-waste distillery.
In the upcoming months, New World Distillery will announce staggered releases of their full line of Rabbit and Grass Agave Spirits and their Ogden Valley Vodka. Beginning Saturday, New World Distillery will offer tastings and retail sales. Both private and public tours will be offered beginning January 1, 2017. They are also the west coast training center for iStill and will offer courses in distillation beginning in the spring.
